Here are the trends in English literature GCSE grades for 2019.
The data shows a rise in the top grades at GCSE English literature this year, with more results being awarded at grades 9 (3.7 per cent), 8 (6.4 per cent) and 7 (10.6 per cent). However, the proportion of grades given at 4 and 5 has fallen this year.
Entries in the subject have risen, from 530,861 last year to 546,677 this year.
The data for the results is based only on 16-year-olds in England. The entries data is England all ages.
