Here are the trends in art and design GCSE grades for 2019.
The data shows a slight rise in most of the top grades at GCSE art and design this year, although a decline at grade 8 from 7.3 per cent of all grades to 7.1 per cent. Both grades 9 and 7 climbed by 0.1 percentage points each, while grade 6 saw a more substantial 0.4 percentage point increase. However there was also a large fall at grade 5, from 18.8 per cent to 18.3 per cent.
Entries in the subject have risen dramatically, from 166,325 last year to 182,204 this year.
The data for the results is based only on 16-year-olds in England. The entries data is England all ages.
