Two twins have achieved the GCSE grades they need to pursue careers in medicine.
Farouq and Faisal Mansour, both pupils at Penwortham Priory Academy in Preston, share not only the same genes – but also the same career goal.
Faisal (pictured left), who is deputy head boy at the school, achieved two A* grades in biology and fine art, four As, two grade 8s in English and a grade 7 in maths.
Farouq (right) secured a total of nine GCSEs, including three A grades.
The pair now plan to go to Newman College to study chemistry, biology and maths, with Faisal also taking up fine art.
“Fine art is my hobby, I enjoy drawing people and animals while I also play the piano, I would like to go into medicine – although architecture is an alternative,” Faisal said.
“I want to be a dentist or a doctor. There is a bit of competition between us but we both want each other to do well,” added Farouq.
