A London school welcomed the start of the new academic year with a visit from local Labour MP Frank Dobson who opened new facilities.
Eleanor Palmer primary school, in Camden, unveiled the new Junior Block floor supplied and fitted by Harvey Maria, for the first time yesterday after pupils voted for their favourite design in an election style process.
Students voted using a ballot box in a bid to teach them about citizenship and democracy as well as the importance of local elections.
Mr Dobson addressed the pupils and said: “I think this is a brilliant idea of the teachers to let you have your say” and hailed Eleanor Palmer as “The school with amazing floors”.
