A Cornish academy has completed a £1m building project.

The Camborne Science and International Academy (CSIA) has redeveloped the sports facilities and modernised existing school buildings.

It was granted funding of £120,000 from Sport England and £880,000 from the Academies Capital Maintenance Fund.

The £1m project over the summer was finished for the start of the new school year, yesterday.

CSIA Principal Ian Kenworthy, said he was delighted with the investment, he said: “This ensures that we continue to give our students, staff and the local community the facilities that underpin and match the outstanding teaching and learning that goes on at our academy. It’s a very exciting time.”
