Funding experts welcome move to commission a £2.5m evaluation to test cash injections into reformed system

The government is looking to collect independent evidence on whether its initial multi-billion pound SEND cash injections are creating the “necessary conditions” for a fully reformed system.

Tender documents reveal how the Department for Education is considering commissioning a £2.5 million evaluation of money “designed to strengthen” mainstream inclusions and improve support.

This includes the £1.8 billion experts at hand scheme, the £1.6 billion inclusive mainstream fund and an “overarching SEND reform investments evaluation”.
