Here are the trends in physical education GCSE grades for 2019.

The data shows a strong rise in the top grades at GCSE PE this year, with a growth of five percentage points at grades 6 (17.8 per cent), 7 (10.5 per cent) and 8 (6.9 per cent). The only pass mark to see a slight decline is grade 5, which fell by 0.2 percentage points from 18 to 17.8 per cent.

Entries in the subject have fallen dramatically, from 85,658 last year to 79,373 this year.

The data for the results is based only on 16-year-olds in England. The entries data is England all ages.
