Inseparable pair get down to business

Two friends who met at Alder Grange School in year 7 have earned the grades they need to head off to university – and they’re going together.

Now studying at the Lancashire school’s sixth-form, students Harry Travis (pictured left) and Daniel Swift will both study business studies at Liverpool John Moore’s University, and even have rooms in the same halls of residence.

Daniel, who achieved a distinction in sport, said: “We’ve always been friends and we’ve worked together on lots of different projects in the past like organising events, and we have had a business selling T-shirts.”

“We’ve been best mates since we joined Alder Grange in Year 7 and have really enjoyed it here,” added Harry, who gained a double distinction in IT and a distinction in sport. “But I don’t think I would have got the results I have without the help and support of the teachers here. They have been absolutely brilliant.”
