Benfleet secondary modern records best ever GCSE results

Pupils and teachers at The Appleton School, a secondary modern in Benfleet, are celebrating their best ever set of GCSE results today.

The school has 75 per cent of pupils who achieved five A* to C, a 3 per cent increase on their previous highest results in 2012.

A total of 68 per cent of students achieved five GCSE’s at A* to C with English and maths.

Standout students include Eleanor Beales-Waller who achieved two A*’s, three A’s and four B’s, and  Carly Macmillan who got five A*’s and six A’s

Headteacher Karen Kerridge said: “This is a fantastic result for our students and our school. Everyone worked hard to ensure that we reached our target in achieving the highest set of results the school has ever achieved.  Well done to all.”
