Education secretary Bridget Phillipson and her ministers have taken MPs’ questions in Parliament this afternoon.

Lines of questioning included SEND reforms and what government is doing to help safeguard schools against future heatwaves, while MPs also roundly criticised recent changes to PE funding.

It came as prime minister Keir Starmer announced his resignation this morning, setting out a timeline to leave Downing Street.
