The academies minister Baroness Berridge has left her role at the Department for Education in Boris Johnson’s reshuffle.

Downing Street said the Conservative peer had left the government, but is yet to name her successor.

Berridge tweeted today it had been an “honour to have served” in the department, and wished new education secretary Nadhim Zahawi and his team “all the best”.

Berridge was appointed in February last year to replace Lord Agnew, who moved to the Treasury.
