About Schools Week

Investigate what matters. Inform what works. Inspire what’s next.

Schools Week is the leading independent news publication covering schools in England.

Founded in 2014, we were created to do something different. To go beyond headlines and deliver rigorous, investigative journalism that holds the system to account and gives professionals the insight they need to lead, teach and make decisions with confidence.

We report on the policies, people and ideas shaping education today. From government reform and funding to leadership, workforce and classroom practice, our focus is always on what matters most to the sector.

Independence sits at the heart of everything we do. We are not aligned to any political party, organisation or commercial interest. That freedom allows us to ask difficult questions, challenge assumptions and report the facts clearly and fairly.

Our journalism is trusted by school leaders, teachers, policymakers and the organisations that support them. Not just because we break stories, but because we explain what they mean and why they matter.

Schools Week is published by EducationScape, an organisation committed to high quality journalism and professional development across education. Alongside FE Week, our sister title covering further education and skills, we exist to inform, investigate and inspire the sector we serve.

At a time of constant change, our role is simple.

To give education the clarity it needs, the scrutiny it deserves, and the insight to move forward with confidence.
